CASTING PERFORMERS APPLICATION

Do you love anime, fitness, and being part of something energetic and community-driven? As a growing organization, we’re building a platform where creativity, movement, and fandom collide and we’re inviting performers to voluntarily showcase their talents at our upcoming second annual Anime Fan & Fitness Festival!​ We welcome performers of all styles, including, but not limited to the following:

    • Dance crews & solo dancers

    • Cosplayers & cosplay skit performers

    • Martial artists & combat demonstrations

    • Fitness instructors & group fitness workout leaders

    • Anime-inspired performers, musicians, or entertainers​​

Is this a paid gig?

This is a volunteer opportunity and performers will not be paid.​

How many performances are we casting?

We are looking to showcase 5 performances

​​​

Is this event indoors or outdoors?

This is an outdoor event that will take place on a large grass field. Please plan accordingly. 

​

How much time is available to perform?

Performers can showcase a 2-10 minute performance.​

 

​Do I need to bring my own equipment?

We will provide the stage, mic and sound system. Performers are responsible for providing music. Please email us if you for any special requests or support.​

​

Will there be a soundcheck or rehearsal?

We will not have a day of soundcheck or rehearsal however, we will have a virtual meeting a week before the event to share more details, logistics and review your performance.​

​

Do I need to submit a sample performance video?

After reviewing your submission, our team will contact you to request a sample if necessary. If this is your first time performing and do not have any footage to provide, please share a detailed description of your performance.

What are the age requirements to perform?

Performers under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent. 

​

Are there any content guidelines or restrictions?

Yes. We want to keep this a family-friendly event. The last thing we would want, is to have performers shouting profanity language!

What if I need to cancel?

If something comes up and you can no longer perform, please notify us as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

How will I know if I've been selected?

You'll receive an email notification from our team once the selection process is complete.

​

Can I sell my (our) own merchandise at Anime Fan and Fitness Festival?

Performers are not permitted to sell merchandise at the event unless approved. Please let us know if you plan on selling merchandise by sending us an email.

If you are interested in marketing yourself, team, group etc. pre and post performance, we will provide performers one 6' table and two chairs however you are responsible for bringing your own marketing material.

If approved, you agree to post the event on your social media at least 1x per week beginning 3 months before the event.

Initial Mile and its owners, its venue partners and the City of Gilroy will not be responsible for any damage or loss to the participant property, injury to the participant.

All performers agree to attend at least 1 of 3 virtual meetings. One will occur in July, August and the final briefing will occur at least 1 week before the event to review logistics. This meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, September 14.
