Compleckz is constantly on the move. Whether it's practicing Muay Thai, working on cars, cooking, capturing life through a lens as a photographer and videographer, or playing the piano. Compleckz has many passions but he's most passionate about being your new best friend!

How Long Have You Been Cosplaying For?

After more than a decade in the cosplay community, several builds stand above the rest.

Deathstroke was his first build ever! The character's armor design immediately caught his attention, and what began as a simple build eventually evolved into three different versions over a year and a half.

Doctor Octopus became the ultimate engineering challenge. Spending about 50 hours across three weekends, he took his crafting skills to the next level to create one of his most technically demanding cosplays.

As a Yu-Gi-Oh fan, there was no way he could pass on building his Dark Magician cosplay! Although this cosplay didn't take as long as his Doctor Octopus (20 hours of work), this is still one of his most popular cosplays when attending conventions.

Tools and Materials

Ask any experienced cosplayer about their must-have tool, and you'll probably hear a variety of answers but for Compleckz, it's all about the glue gun!

"Glue Gun. Enough said. It literally holds everything together."

Most of his paint comes from everyday hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowe's, while their high-density foam comes from a dedicated supplier, proving that incredible costumes don't always require specialty shops.

Fitness and Cosplay Outside of conventions, he regularly trains in Muay Thai while incorporating mixed martial arts to become a more well-rounded martial artist. Weightlifting, hiking, and maintaining at least 10,000 steps every day are also part of the routine. Compleckz mentions

"I have also seen many many success stories of people getting into fitness because of cosplay. Some people want to embody the characters to the T!"

Some want to resemble their favorite heroes as closely as possible, while others discover confidence and discipline through training. In many ways, cosplay becomes the spark that encourages positive lifestyle changes.

Advice For New Cosplayers

Compleckz's biggest piece of advice is simple, start creating! Watch tutorials. Pick up crafting supplies. Build something.

"You don't get better unless you do it."

Mistakes are part of the process and every failed attempt teaches a new skill that leads to better builds in the future. Beyond crafting, he encourages newcomers to embrace the social side of cosplay. Meeting others who love the same characters is one of the best ways to make friends, collaborate on photoshoots, and grow within the community. Remember, cosplay doesn't have to stay inside convention walls. Some of the best experiences happen during outdoor photoshoots and local meetups.

Anything Else You Want to Share with The Community?

"It's not a competition. Go do you. We're all out here to have fun and play dress up. It's not that deep. If you get intimidated by someone's cosplay because its more well crafted than yours, go talk to the cosplayer. 99% of the time, they will share their knowledge with you. Use that energy to better yourself instead of feeling inferior or jealous. All the high level cosplayers were once in your shoes. Beginners. The difference is they kept failing and kept learning from it."
