Fight Fit Kickboxing Workout 3

Goku fighting Uub in martial arts tournament

This Anime Inspired Fight Fit routine, Kickboxing Workout 3, can help warriors train and improve both basic and intermediate kickboxing skills.

One of my most favorite Dragon Ball episodes was at the end of the Buu saga when little Uub was introduced to the Dragon Ball universe. Uub is considered to be the reincarnation of Kid Buu but instead of being the maniacal villain, Uub is the kid with a big heart and the spirit of a hero! When going up against Goku, Uub showed signs of anxiety and hesitation however he still proceeded to fight against Goku because he knew he had to do everything he could to win and to our surpise, after seeing the Uub's martial arts skills and powers, he had great potential; enough potential that Goku took Uub under his wing to train him. This anime inspired fight fit routine, Kickboxing 3, can help warriors learn, train and improve intermediate skills that can lead to unlocking hidden potential like Uub!

Training Notes:

  • Return every punch back to the chin.

  • The non-punching hand should remain at your chin to block potential strike.

  • Pivot the foot when performing the hook punch. If you're executing the lead hook, pivot the front foot. If you're executing the rear hook, pivot the rear foot.

  • Execute each uppercut from the chin. Do not round the arm when performing the uppercut.

  • Remember the 4 steps to executing a round house kick with proper form:

    Step 1: Chamber your leg

    Step 2: Pivot grounded foot

    Step 3: Extend kicking leg

Step 4: Recoil leg back to body

    Step 5: Reset

  • Imagine striking a target with the top of your foot or shin when performing the round house kick.

  • Spin Back Kick Tips: If you're left foot is forward, you will be striking with your rear right leg. To do this, look over your right shoulder by rotating at your trunk and simultaneously pivoting your feet. Look at your target over your right shoulder and as you see your target, kick straight back with your rear right leg striking the target with the heel of your foot. Kicking foot should be positioned horizontally as if you were kicking a brick out of a brick wall.
